This 1/2 oz jig head has a jumping fish style head made for rigging soft worm baits, and it comes in three weights: 7g, 14.5g (the 1/2 oz size) and 21g. It is sold as 1 piece. A 1/2 oz head is a versatile middle weight: heavy enough to cast a good distance and reach the bottom in moderate depth, yet light enough for a natural fall.

Thread a soft bait from the nose so it sits straight against the head. Cast, let it sink, then swim it back steadily or hop it along the bottom with lifts of the rod tip. Drop to 7g in shallow water, or step up to 21g in wind, current or deeper water.
