This 80g jig is a sea jigbait for ocean boat fishing, trolling and shore casting, and it also comes in 60g if you fish shallower or lighter water. It is made as a hairtail lure, and its weight gets it down fast when you drop it under the boat.

From a boat, drop the jig to the bottom, then lift and wind it back up through the water in short, sharp jerks, letting it fall back on a slack line between pulls. Most bites come on the fall. From the shore, the 80g weight lets you cast a long way on a heavier rod and still feel the jig touch down. Choose 60g for slack tide and 80g when the current is strong or the water is deep.
