Small Eel Lure with Hook 5.5cm/8.5cm (Pack of 3)

Product Details

This eel lure with hook is a small, soft artificial bait shaped like a young eel, sold in 5.5cm and 8.5cm sizes with 3 pieces per pack. Each lure comes with its hook already fitted, so you can tie it on and start fishing straight away instead of rigging a soft body yourself.

Small eels and eel-shaped baitfish are a natural food for many predators in both fresh and salt water. A long, slim, flexible body copies that shape, and on a slow retrieve the soft tail swings from side to side in an easy, natural swimming action. Because the bait is soft, a fish that grabs it feels something that gives like real food, so it tends to hold on long enough for you to set the hook.

Pick the size to match what the fish are feeding on. The 5.5cm version suits light rods, small predators and clear, calm water where a subtle bait does better. The 8.5cm version gives a bigger profile for coloured water, stronger flow or fish that are chasing larger prey.

There are several ways to fish it. Cast and wind slowly and steadily so the tail keeps swimming just above the bottom or through the middle of the water. Lift and drop it with short rod movements, letting it flutter down after each lift, because many takes come on the drop. Or let it drift with a current past rocks, weed edges and structure where predators wait for food to come past.

Check the hook point now and then, and rinse the lures in fresh water after a sea session. Store them flat in their pack so the soft bodies keep their straight shape.
