Lugworm Bait Screw Thread 10cm (Pack of 4)

Product Details

This lugworm bait is a 10cm PVC soft bait shaped like a lugworm, with a screw thread body, sold as a lot of 4 pieces. Lugworm is one of the classic sea angling baits, dug from sand and mud at low tide and fished from beaches, piers and estuaries. An artificial version saves you the digging, keeps in the tackle box between trips and stays on the hook through cast after cast.

The screw thread rings look like the segmented body of a real lugworm and push a little water as the bait moves. Thread it onto a long-shank hook or a jig head so the body lies straight, and cast it out on a running rig or a simple paternoster. Let it settle on the bottom and give it an occasional slow drag, the way a worm shifts in the tide. On clean, soft ground you can also bounce it back slowly on a light jig head. Many anglers add a little scent or tip the hook with natural bait when fish are fussy. Because the bait is PVC, it stands up better than natural worm to small, nipping fish and can be used for several casts. Check it after each fish and push it back into place so it keeps a natural, straight line. Four in the pack give you spares for a full session.
