Minnow Lure Hard Bait 13cm 13g

Product Details

This minnow lure is a 13cm, 13g hard bait that swims at 0.5-1m below the surface. That shallow running depth puts it in the top layer of water, where predators look up to hunt small fish against the light, and keeps it above most weed beds, rocks and snags.

The long 13cm body gives a slim baitfish profile that is easy for fish to see, while the 13g weight is light enough for a medium spinning rod and still casts a fair distance. A shallow minnow like this is a good search bait: cast it along the margins, over weed beds and near fallen trees, around rocky points, or along the edge of a current, and cover water until you find active fish.

It works in lakes, rivers and quiet coastal water, and is often at its best early and late in the day, when fish move into the shallows to feed. It comes in 5 colours, so you can pick a natural shade for clear water or a bright one for coloured water. Sold as 1 piece.

• Runs at 0.5-1m, in the shallow zone where fish hunt near the surface
• 13cm slim body gives a clear baitfish profile
• 13g weight suits medium spinning tackle and casts a fair distance
• Stays above most weed and snags in shallow water
• 5 colours to match clear or coloured water

How to fish it

Start with a steady, medium-speed retrieve so the bait settles at its working depth with an even wobble. Then try a twitch-and-pause style: two or three short rod twitches make it dart and flash, and a short pause lets a following fish catch up.

• Steady retrieve: covers water fast and finds active fish
• Twitch and pause: copies an injured baitfish and draws reaction strikes
• Slow roll along weed tops: keeps the bait just above cover

Looks very decent, the rattle makes noise, but the hinges must be glued!!!
