NED Rig Jig Head Lock Hook 1.6g-18g

Product Details

This ned rig jig head carries a lock on the hook shank that grips a soft worm bait and keeps it in place cast after cast. Weights run from 1.6g to 18g, so you can fish a light, slow-falling finesse rig in calm shallow water or a heavier head that holds bottom in wind, current or deeper water.

The ned rig is a finesse method: a short soft bait on a small jig head, dragged or hopped slowly across the bottom. Thread the bait on so it sits straight against the head, then let it settle and give small lifts of the rod tip. A buoyant soft bait stands up off the bottom between hops, which looks like a feeding creature to a fish. Keep the line tight on the drop, as many bites come as the bait settles.

• Bait lock on the shank holds a soft worm in place for more casts
• Light weights near 1.6g fall slowly for calm, shallow finesse work
• Heavier heads up to 18g hold bottom in wind and current
• Jig head hook shape suits short soft baits for the ned rig
• Simple rig to drag or hop slowly along the bottom
