Small Metal Jig 15g 5.5cm Jigbait

Product Details

This small metal jig packs 15g into a compact 5.5cm body, so it casts like a bullet yet still looks like a small baitfish in the water. Small jigs earn their place in the box when fish are feeding on little prey: a short, dense lure matches that size without losing casting range, and it gets down to the strike zone quickly when fish hold deep or the current runs hard.

The jigbait suits a wide range of predators. Its target fish are bass, mandarin fish, catfish, snakehead and mackerel, which covers both freshwater work in rivers and lakes and light saltwater casting from piers and rocks. In fresh water, cast it out, let it sink to the bottom on a slack line and work it back with short lifts of the rod tip, letting it flutter down between each lift. Most takes come on the drop, so watch the line and strike at any twitch or pause. For mackerel and other fast fish in the sea, a quick, steady retrieve or a burst of rapid jerks near the surface often works better.

Because the body is so small, it is a good choice when fish ignore larger lures, and it pairs well with a light spinning rod and thin braid for maximum distance. Sold as one piece.
