Egg Soft Frog Bait 5cm 12g

Product Details

This soft frog bait is a compact egg-shaped frog, 5cm long and 12g in weight, fitted with Japan hooks. The rounded egg body gives a short, chunky profile that sits on the surface like a small frog resting on a lily pad, and the soft material gives a natural feel when a fish closes its mouth on it.

Frog baits come into their own in the places other lures cannot go: over weed beds, along reed edges, between lily pads and under overhanging trees. Cast past the target, then bring the frog back across the cover with short twitches of the rod tip and stop it in every open pocket. Many strikes come on the pause, when the bait sits still after a few hops.

The 12g weight gives you enough mass to cast this small frog a good distance on a baitcaster or a stout spinning rod, while the 5cm size suits days when fish ignore bigger surface baits. Its small body is also easy to skip under branches and docks with a low sidearm cast.

When a fish hits, wait a moment until the line moves off or you feel weight, then set the hook hard. Braided line helps you pull fish out of thick weed and gives a solid hook set at distance. Check the hook points after a session in heavy cover and keep them sharp.

• 5cm egg-shaped body gives a small, chunky frog profile for fussy fish
• 12g weight casts well and skips under branches and docks
• Soft body feels natural, so fish hold on longer after the strike
• Japan hooks give a firm hold once you set the hook
• Twitch-and-pause action works over pads, weed and reed edges
