This VIB lure is a 35g, 9cm vibration bait built for sea fishing and aimed at bass. A VIB is a lipless, flat-sided bait with the line tie on its back, so it sinks on slack line and starts a tight, fast shimmy the moment you wind. That shimmy sends a strong pulse through the water, which lets fish find the bait in coloured water, surf, tide rips and low light when they cannot see it well.

At 35g the lure punches into a headwind and covers a lot of water from the shore, a pier, rocks or a drifting boat. The compact 9cm body keeps the profile modest, close to the size of the small baitfish that bass chase along the coast, while the weight gets it down fast when fish hold deep or the tide runs hard.

There are three simple ways to fish it. Cast, let it sink to the depth you want, then wind steadily and feel for the vibration through the rod tip. Or burn it fast just under the surface when bass are pushing bait up in white water.

Count it down after each cast to find the depth that works, and change speed until you get a follow or a take. A firm rod and braided line help you feel the vibration and set the hook at range. Rinse the lure in fresh water after a session in the sea so salt does not build up on the hooks and line tie.
