Soft Jerkbait Skirt Tail Hollow Belly 12.5cm (Pack of 3)

Product Details

This soft jerkbait is a 12.5cm, 5.5g jerkshad with a lifelike fish body, a hollow belly and a skirt tail. It is light for its length, so on a weightless or lightly weighted Texas rig it sinks slowly and darts from side to side when you snap the rod tip, like an injured baitfish that cannot keep up with the school.

The hollow belly is there for hook-ups. Rig it Texas style on an offset hook and let the point sit in the hollow, just under the skin of the back: the bait comes through weed and snags without hanging up, but when a fish bites the body folds and the point comes out cleanly. The skirt tail trails behind the body and flutters on every pause.

Work it with a twitch-twitch-pause rhythm on slack line, just under the surface or a little deeper. Most bites come on the pause, as the bait glides and sinks. Fish it over weed beds, along banks and around fish that are chasing baitfish near the top. Each lot holds 3 pieces.

• Texas rig set-up comes through weed with fewer snags
