Topwater Dragonfly Lure Popper 7.5cm 6g

Product Details

This topwater dragonfly lure is an insect bait made as a small popper, 7.5cm long and 6g in weight. It suits grass carp, bass and tilapia and comes as 1 piece.

Insects fall onto the water all through the warm months, and fish learn to watch the surface for them. A dragonfly that drops onto the water and struggles is an easy meal, and this lure copies that moment. Cast it close to reeds, lily pads, overhanging trees and the edges of weed beds, where real insects land. Let it sit until the rings on the water fade, then give a small twitch so the popper face makes a soft pop and a little splash. Rest it again and repeat. Fish often take a surface insect when it is still, so long pauses are part of the method. At 6g it casts well on a light spinning rod with fine line, which also keeps the lure sitting naturally on the surface. Use a slow, quiet rhythm on calm days and a few more pops when there is a ripple.
